Among the types of electrician jobs, working as an electrical contractor has some specialist roles which others don’t have. For instance, working as a standard electrician means that you will be hired by home and business owners to come in and deal with faulty electrical systems. For an electrical contractor, your role would be to install the electrical systems as a part of a wider construction job.

Electrical contractors typically have little to no interaction with the owners of the property, and are instead hired by the construction firm hired to build the property to outfit the building with its electrical utilities.

It can be said that electrical contractors have it easier than an electrician, as unlike electricians they don’t really have to diagnose an issue.
